Still heading east... by train or hot air balloon for the truly adventurous!...
The world's largest country offers it all, from historic cities and idyllic countryside to artistic riches, epic train rides and vodka-fuelled nightlife. *
My first thoughts of Russia is St Basil's Cathedral! A wonderful and crazy mix of colours and patterns, it's hard not to be fascinated by it all!
And here's my page, I've torn and distress my PP to make my curves, layered everything and added some flicks of gold.
After coating my cardstock with white gesso, I stamped with Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder for a resist effect, I created the watercolour background with Shimmer Dust and spritz of water.
These Bee Arty - Arty Farty papers are so bright and colourful, perfect for a photo of my nephew painting. (Stock image used for public) I've torn and distressed the edges to make my curve., layed up everything using 3D foam and finished off with some flick of my fav gold paint.
Added some cotton, sayings and a flair from the Travel kit.
I have fussy cut the leaves from printed PVC fabric. The PVC fabric makes it very easy to attach the fabric to the page without getting in a mess with the glue showing through.
I used a bright pink cardstock to add a torn strip to the bottom of the layout and to mat my photos.
I used Kaisercraft's Alphabet Upper Case dies to cut my title, which is the name of the island we were on when these photos were taken.
The title was underlined with a fine black pen
The lace from the optional kit was attached at the top of the top photo and the bottom of the bottom photo.
Underlining the title and a scribbly border finish this page off.

I am really enjoying seeing everyone's interpretations of the themes for each country.

And now on to this weeks layout
The technique for this week is stamping and the optional kit item to be used is chipboard.
I have taken the colours yellow and blue as my inspiration from the bottom photo on the moodboard
I have torn one long edge of each of these paper strips, inked the edges with my black Versacolour ink cube and layered them onto my white card stock background so each layer slightly overlaps the one below it.
I have fussy cut several flowers from the Garden Variety sheet of patterned paper to embellish my page.
To fill the stamping requirement I used the zig zag stamp from Kaisercraft's Bow & Arrow stamp set to stamp with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder to areas of the background that would not be covered by my photos
The title was cut using Kaisercraft's Alphabet Upper Case die set from the Sun Shower patterned paper
I also used the Sun Shower patterned paper to cover the chipboard arrow from the optional kit before I attached it to the layout

When I think of Brazil I think of Rio.
Now I'm singing the song but I'm also thinking of all the colours of Carnival!
Then created a rainbow background using Distress Oxides but the colour dried a lot lighter than I planned so I added some more colour using my watercolour palette.
